Flora and fauna a natural attraction for Ashberry Homes at Peters Village

Natural neighbourhoods with plenty of fauna and flora are said to improve residents stress levels according to new research by the University of Oxford. House buyers will have plenty of access to the great outdoors at Ashberry Homes’ Victoria Gardens development at Peters Village, offering luscious gardens and green open spaces in a village setting.

The development will consist of one and two-bedroom apartments and two, three, four and five-bedroom houses, where residents will also enjoy idyllic countryside vistas and views out to Peters Pit Nature Reserve, a Site of Special Scientific Interest (SSSI), managed by Natural England and the Kent Wildlife Trust.

Prospective buyers can visit the development and explore the surrounding area now, with the first phase of 20 homes being released for sale, including two-bedroom coach houses and three and four-bedroom houses.

The developer will later add a total of 87 of its distinct homes to the consortium village that currently has 625 plots planned. Future phases will take the overall number of homes at Peters Village to over 1,000.

The Victoria Gardens development, built on the banks of the River Medway, sits on the former industrial site previously known as Peters Pit and Peters Lime & Cement Works. Ashberry will also create a Local Area of Play (LAP) at the centre of the site, available for use by all residents.

Peters Pit SSSI and the local area has much rare flora and fauna, including the Marsh Mallow Moth - one of only two sites in the UK where it can be found - Great Crested Newt, Adonis Blue butterfly and various orchids. 

The properties are well located to benefit from local amenities including a supermarket and other shops planned at Peters Village, as well as existing facilities in nearby Wouldham village. Peters Village will also include a community centre, medical centre, and office space.

A larger selection of high street stores and supermarkets are a short drive away in nearby Aylesford and Rochester while the popular Bluewater Shopping Centre in Greenhithe is 25 minutes away by car. There are two golf courses nearby, while the Buckmore Park International Outdoor Kart Circuit is a 10-minute drive away.

For families, there are several well-regarded local schools including primary schools at Burham, Eccles and Halling, plus Aylesford School Sports College. A new primary school also opened in Peters Village itself early this year.

Ideal for commuters, Peters Village is only 19 minutes by train from high-speed services into London via Ebbsfleet International Station. Eurostar high-speed rail services into Europe can also be accessed here. Several major roads are easily accessible too: the A228 connects with the development via Peters Bridge, an all-new crossing linking the new community on the Medway’s east bank with those on the west. Other important routes include the M2 and the M20 motorways, feeding into the M25 or to Europe via Dover ferries or the Channel Tunnel near Folkestone.
