Peters Village could have a state-of-the-art medical centre by summer 2021 after a breakthrough in lengthy negotiations.
Phoenix Medical Practice, which has existing medical practices close to Peters Village, at Burham and Eccles, wants to transfer the former to the new 1,000-home riverside community with building likely to start in June 2020.
In a statement also advertising two fact-finding events for residents and patients, Phoenix Practice Manager Robert Niechoj said:
“We have outgrown our existing surgery buildings at both Burham and Eccles and in order to continue to provide the level of care our patients need, we must look towards the future. The opportunity of a purpose-built surgery within Peters Village is an ideal opportunity for us to be able to offer this continued care to our growing patient list.
“We want to ensure that patients and residents had the ability to come and see our plans in more detail and discuss their thoughts with us. We therefore arranged drop-in events on Monday 25 November and Thursday 28 November in Burham and Wouldham respectively."
He added that both events were ‘open door’ so that interested partries could visit anytime during each two-hour sessions and meet members of the Practice, the building development team and local councillors.
The new facility will be built by Assura, an investment trust that designs, builds, invests and manages healthcare buildings for the NHS.
This is where the Peters Village team post regular updates on the latest happenings and developments in our new village.
